The Northwest Stallion Service Auction was first held in 1978 as a means of raising awareness of Paint horses in the Pacific Northwest. The auction consists of Paint and Quarter Horse stallions services. Successful bidders must breed a mare that will produce an APHA registerable offspring to the stallion who's service they have purchased. Only the resulting offspring of those mares bred on purchased breedings are eligible to participate in the weanling futurities. These futurities have become some of the largest paying futurities for paint weanlings in the nation.
